01 January, 2000
In January 2010, CSR relocated its headquarters to a new Green Star premises located at Stockland Triniti Campus in North Ryde. CSR was recently awarded a 5 Star Green Star – Office Interiors v1.1 rating for the fitout of its new offices.
CSR products used throughout the CSR fitout include Bradford Insulation, Cemintel Fibre Cement, Fricker Ceiling Systems, Gyprock Plasterboard and Viridian Glass.
The move to Triniti III provided CSR with an opportunity to demonstrate its commitment to sustainability by bringing together all of its brands and applying them to create one outstanding building.
CSR’s Chief Executive Officer of Building Products and Aluminium Division, Rob Sindel, says, “Our vision for the new headquarters was for a sustainable workplace that encouraged innovation and collaboration between business units, and provided up-to-the-minute facilities and technology.”
The new initiatives, together with the smart green building features are expected to deliver carbon emissions reduction of around 50 per cent in the first year for the head office premises.
“The Green Star certification, together with CSR’s commitment to the environment, helps us to attract good employees into the organisation and reflects CSR’s desire to improve our safety, health and environmental performance,” comments Rob Sindel.
In addition to the the fitout of CSR’s new offices, the buidling owners Stockland have registered the Triniti III building for a Green Star – Office As Built v2 rating which stands alongside the 5 Star Green Star – Office As Built v2 rating it achieved for campus buildings I and II. CSR collaborated with Stockland, the architects Morris Bray and builders Baulderstone on the design and construction of the Triniti III buidling.
CSR Panel Systems Marketing Manager, Paul Mooney, says, “Hebel was specified for the Triniti project and is the only lightweight masonry product to be certified by Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA). The application of this product was selected instead of concrete blocks due to the lower environmental impact. Hebel has 61% less embodied energy than concrete and results in 64% less greenhouse gas emissions (Source: LCA Report GECA 2006).
Other CSR products used throughout the construction include Alutri aluminium composite panels, Bradford Insulation, Cemintel Fibre Cement, Fricker Ceiling Systems and Gyprock Plasterboard.
